Creating, Intentionally...
Marrow is shifting (and why): what paid members receive, and a sneak peak of what the issues will be like.
Hi all —
I very recently started this substack and ever since, my brain has been going a mile a minute on how to write intentionally while still working full time with side gigs, being a single mother and not burning out. I love to write, photograph the world from my perspective, art and design… and want to share it all intentionally and consistently.
That being said, I am shifting to creating mostly for paid subscribers, which will allow me to can give you my best work - again, intentionally and consistently.
Going forward, Marrow will be mostly for paid subscribers, one thoughtfully designed mini digital zine each month. This will allow me to be more intentional with my time and craft. I’ll still share an occasional public post, poem, thoughts, notes, etc…, but the core work (poems, prose, images, and a micro playlist) will live in the paid tier.
What paid members get each month:
A 3-page mini zine (poems +/- short prose +/- original photography)
A 3-song micro-playlist
Year-end bonus: a full PDF anthology of every issue designed as a digital zine with the option to pre-order a signed hardcopy. Hardcopies will be available to the free tier as well after member pre-orders have gone through, though their copies will not be signed.
Founding members also receive a monthly high-res wallpaper pack (desktop + mobile), their name in the year-end zine, and a founder rate locked for life.
If you’ve been reading and want to support the work, upgrading makes a real difference.
A sneak peak of what you’ll get each month:
“Sleep Is Easy —
Staying conscious isn’t dramatic. It’s not the summit photo or the tidy epiphany; it’s a thousand small refusals:
of numbing,
of speed,
of the story that says, “you should be somewhere by now.”
Most mornings I fail.
But I keep going.
Culture offers a conveyor belt —
scroll,
compare,
purchase,
repeat
The belt moves whether I step on it or not.
My work is to notice the tug and choose the footpath instead….”

3-song micro-playlist:
• Aeseaes — “Finifungal”
• Agnes Obel — “Riverside”
• Iron & Wine — “Cinder and Smoke”

Thank you for reading, sharing, and making space for this kind of work. Your support lets me keep Marrow raw and sustainable.
With gratitude,
Kimberly
